In which Park Can You Sponsor?

Sponsorship opportunities exist in most BC Parks and we invite all requests.

However, each request must be assessed for ecological impact and be in accordance with Park Management Plans. For these reasons, all requests and locations may not be possible.

Commemorative Plaques and Inscriptions

A bronze plaque can be placed on the bench or picnic table for dedication purposes.
Plaques are a standard size (2" by 6") and allow for 3 lines of text with each line consisting of a maximum 26 characters (including spaces between words and punctuation).

  • Wording is to be kept in the present tense.
  • Samples of approved inscriptions

How Does it Work?

The recommended process to follow is:

  • Review information on website;
  • Make three decisions:
    1. What kind of sponsorship do you want?  Do you want a bench, picnic table, etc…
    2. How much do you want to spend?  See cost information next to each item listed on website.
    3. Choose an appropriate Location (which park)
  • Contact Project Manager;
  • Project Manager works with BC Parks regional staff to determine whether the requested location is available;
  • If location is available, Project Manager will request payment;
  • When payment is received, Parks staff will initiate project;
  • Please make cheques payable to: Ministry of Finance.

About the Program

B.C.’s provincial parks have the power to change lives. Whether visitors are inspired by the awesome beauty of a mountain range, witnessing wildlife in natural habitat or lazing away a hot summer afternoon on the beaches of a pristine lake or river, BC Parks creates unforgettable memories.

Make Your Mark – For a BC Park offers the chance to recognise your special connection to parks through sponsorship of enhancement projects such as new benches, picnic tables, or solar powered showers. Whether you want to commemorate a loved one, honour a family member or friend, or simply offer your support to these extraordinary places, Make Your Mark for a BC Park will ensure that everyone has the opportunity to have a provincial park experience of a lifetime.

The generosity of sponsors is recognised on the BC Parks website and a bronze plaque may be placed on the amenity. Donations are tax deductable; tax receipts are issued upon request.
